Earthship Seattle Visitor Center Fundraiser Dance Party

  • Substation, 645 NW 45th St, Seattle
Earthship Seattle and Uniting Souls are proud to bring you: EARTHSHIP On June 9th 2017 we will celebrate life and sustainability at this fundraiser event. Earthship Seattle has joined forces with the Cascadia Now! Non profit organization for a 501c3 sponsored project. We are raising the money to build a Global Model Earthship here in Seattle to be used as a visitor center. Earthships are radically sustainable off grid homes that are made from repurposed materials. If you don’t know what an Earthship is exactly, you will by the end of the night. We will have a packed line up of your favorite local DJ’s in the main room. In addition to some great music, we will be highlighting art that is made from trash in the small room. There will be informational booths for you to learn more about Earthships and Biotecture. Also you will pick up the skill of turning your own trash into building materials. Several times throughout the night you will notice models on the main stage wearing the latest in trash fashion. We encourage you to wear your favorite upcycled fashion as well. There will be a contest/prize for the best item. The proceeds from this night's event will go into the fund to complete our mission of building this visitor center. The Lineup: James Sorrell & Mr. Linden B2B Tribal Tech set Ramiro Buckmode Rob Noble Julie Herrera James Sorrell [To Infinity Productions] https://soundcloud.com/james-sorrell/road-to-hypnagogia I was born an audiophile and have always been listening. When I was a papoose my safety blanket was a pair of old headphones and a gain knob within reach during nap times and still is after over four decades today. There's nothing more comforting than sub sonic bass frequencies and a bouncing mid range sprinkled with a melodic high end to soothe any and every emotion. When it comes to music and audio in general, it has a way of carrying us off and elevating our spirits every single time we close our eyes and just listen. Tribal rhythm and drums is where it all started for me growing up as a local northwest native american. My tribal roots run deep and I incorporate my heritage into every set I play by layering in ethnomusic percussion, in a sense grounding my sound back to where it all began for me as a child. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of trippy weird spacey sounds and that's probably why I love techno so much as well, but every chance I get, I am going to create a soundscape that takes you on an emotional and spiritual journey. I play music in hopes to make an immediate connection with my listener and help them to find ways to make a deeper connection within themselves. Music is my weapon against all of the chaos and animosity in this world that we live in. I hope to only elevate you while you give me your ears. Mr. Linden moved to Seattle from Anchorage in 1998, saw Carl Cox 2 months later in 1999 and knew he made the right choice. He had pretty good luck for someone just ghosting though the Seattle DJ community; Played at ETG, Sole repair, a short residency at The Living Room, playing at the SAM Sculpture park for one of the REMIX nights several years on a makeshift Pride Float... It wasn’t until 2016 that he decided to take it a little more seriously and pursue his passion of making people dance with more gusto. Now Mr.Linden plays music appropriate for the moment, always looking to get people on the dance floor and keep 'em there using a blend of brand new and classic tracks. https://hearthis.at/vtqxrtkd/earth-deep-roots/ Ramiro Gutierrez [Synchronicity, Uniting Souls Music] https://soundcloud.com/80hd-podcast/ep-53-ramiro-gutierrez-synchronicity-deep-tribal-house-mix In the early 90s, during his college years in San Francisco, Ramiro converged on the electronic music phenomenon that was exploding in the Bay Area. In 1995, with the help of friends, Ramiro began producing his own events, promoting community among an emerging group of artists & musicians, while showcasing their work. By 1997, Uniting Souls was born. As founder, Ramiro worked actively to build community through the power of house music, producing over 100 shows in SF through the late '90s, and several more in Los Angeles, quickly gaining a reputation for world-class events with incredibly good vibes. Since making Seattle his new home in 2000, Ramiro has been "an inextinguishable accelerant of Seattle's house scene" (Seattle Weekly), producing and performing at over 500 events in the past decade. Since 2006, Ramiro has also spearheaded the record label branch, Uniting Souls Music, with 4 consecutive sold-out vinyl releases, and licensed tracks to San Francisco's legendary Om Records (for DJ Heather & Onionz' "Summer Sessions" double-disc), Vancouver B.C.'s NordicTrax, and Belgium's Beaubar label. Ramiro has also produced label showcases in New York & at WMC in Miami Beach. Through his dj sets, Ramiro aims to uplift the dancer to a higher Spiritual realm, with a passion for forward-thinking tracks which push the boundaries of innovation, with dirty, techy, funky bass lines, and soulful, contagious good vibes!! When he's not throwin' down behind the decks, you're likely to find him on the dance floor! BUCKMODE [1LUV] https://soundcloud.com/buckmode BuckMode is always sure to get things bouncing with his booty shakin’ sound that refreshes your souls from the inside out! A large helping of BuckMode on the decks has been known to cause BSS (Booty Shakin’ Syndrome.) His passion for music and love for the industry shines throughout his musical compilations. When BuckMode is behind the decks he will surely leave you weak in knees! You have been warned! Julie Herrera [Flammable] https://www.mixcloud.com/julie-herrera/ A California native, but raised in Seattle from the age of 13, Julie considers the northwest home and Seattle takes pride in claiming her as their own. Music has always been a source of inspiration for Julie; first from her older sibling’s collection of 70’s and 80’s soul, Disco and R&B records, mainstays like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Teena Marie and Rick James. This coupled with her own tastes for new wave and dance artists of the 80’s such as Prince, Depeche Mode, Yaz, The Cure, Eurhythmics, Michael Jackson and Madonna… helped to set the foundation for her future in music. In the 90’s, a teen age Julie was drawn to Seattle’s underground/dance rave scene. She quickly found herself spending more time at the DJ booth inquiring about music than on the dance floor with the rest of the crowd. By day-she found herself at the record stores with scraps of paper from the night before- scribbled names of artists, song titles and producers such as Masters at Work, Danny Tenaglia, Murk boys ala Liberty City & Funky Green Dogs, Frankie Knuckles…She was hooked! Her first official gig “playing out” was in 1996 at the now defunct Kid Mohair (Now the Baltic Room). Her ferocious appetite for varied styles of music coupled with her unique ear and soulful style, Julie quickly created a buzz in the underground club scene. In 1998 Julie became one of the resident DJ’s at ARO.space’s infamous club night “Hot Box” while simultaneously becoming a member of the Hitgirl! Collective with fellow local DJ’s and comrades L. A. Kendall, Ginger Vaughn and DJ Aundroid. The 1-2 punch of Hitgirl Collective and HotBox had an important and long lasting impact both on her career and Seattle nightlife history in general by giving a voice, opportunity, access and exposure for herself and a host of other emerging female talent at the time. With a career just past the twenty year mark, Julie has had the opportunity to work, play and share the stage with some truly legendary parties and most recently was tapped to be the newest resident of the longest-running weekly House music night this side of Chicago - Flammable along with Seattle legends and heavy hitters Brian Lyons, Wesley Holmes, Xan Lucero, Eric Allen and Karl Kamakahi. Julie’s ability to take you on a flawless journey from classic Chicago stylings, tech-house, disco, nu-disco, afro /tribal/ Latin house, deep-acid and vocals (she is NOT afraid of a good vocal) is unmatched! A true artist with a nuanced presence both as a DJ and performer, she is as much fun to hear as she is to watch. With an unparalleled ability to “read” a crowd, Julie will hands down leave you with an electrifying, soulful and uplifting dance floor experience. Rob Noble [Manifest] https://soundcloud.com/rob-noble Constantly evolving and pushing his craft, Rob has been a dedicated DJ and performer for the past 15 years based out of Seattle. Recycled art in the back room: Roxanne and the Seattle Trash Studio Emma Jones and her plastic bottle wizardry Jodi Meadows with Trash Fashion Krista Lee Wolf
